Fancy a walk in Dovedale but dont want to do a 10-mile walk? . The walk traverses first Milldale and then Dovedale before heading up to Baley Hill with its views northwards to Alstonefield and beyond. A 1-hour loop walk to the iconic peak in the North Yorkshire Moors, Helvellyn via Striding Edge Youll now see Thorpe Cloud hill in front of you, as long as its not too cloudy! HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE: Without kids, this is a 2 hour walk, but with young kids it is closer to 3 hours (longer if it's a sunny day and you want to picnic by the river and maybe have a paddle). Dovedale The stunning limestone valley of Dovedale is one of the best loved beauty spots in the Peak District National Park, and indeed one of the most visited natural sites in Britain.
